I would appreciate some feedback.
I make jewelry, beaded bags and other handcrafted items. I have only sold online. I visited a local consignment stop to possibly sell my items there. The owner told me that the store would get 60% of the sale and I would get 40%. I expected 60/40 but I thought I would get the 60%.
I do have other stores to visit. But can anyone give me feeback about this?
Thank You
ML

That doesn't seem very reasonable to me unless they can price your things high enough so you get what you need to make a profit. When I do consignment, as long as I get my margin and they sell, the ratio is less important. If you have other stores in your area, absolutely check them all out and compare. The area that you live in may also affect the going commission rates.
What do consignment stores normally charge for a commission?

The store can set their own rates… and you can set your
own rates. If they do not agree then you can negotiate…
or look for another outlet.
